What are neurotoxins and how do they work?
Neurotoxins temporarily reduce activity in targeted muscles. In aesthetic treatment, this can soften lines created by repeated facial expressions such as frowning, squinting, and raising the eyebrows.
Will neurotoxins make my face look frozen?
They don’t have to. How much movement remains depends in part on treatment placement and dosing. If maintaining expression is important to you, let your provider know—we can take that preference into account when developing your treatment plan.
How soon will I see my results?
The effect isn’t immediate. You’ll typically begin noticing changes as the neurotoxin takes effect over the days following your appointment, with the result continuing to develop before reaching its full effect.
How long do neurotoxin results last?

How many units will I need?
There isn’t a universal number. Someone with stronger facial muscles or different treatment goals may need a different amount than another patient treating the same area. Your provider will determine appropriate dosing after evaluating your anatomy and movement.
What's the difference between neurotoxins and dermal fillers?
They address different concerns. Neurotoxins reduce targeted muscle activity to soften expression-related lines, while dermal fillers are injectable products used to add or restore volume and contour. Some patients may benefit from one treatment, while others may use both as part of a broader aesthetic plan.
What is a lip flip?
A lip flip uses a small amount of neurotoxin around the upper lip to alter muscle movement and allow slightly more of the lip to show. Unlike lip filler, it doesn’t add volume to the lips, so the two treatments produce different types of results.
Can neurotoxins prevent wrinkles from getting deeper?
Reducing repeated movement can help limit one of the factors that contributes to expression lines becoming more established over time. However, existing lines—especially those visible while your face is at rest—may also involve changes within the skin and may benefit from additional treatment approaches.
